ABOUT MUNICIPALITY

Panskura Municipality, with population of about 58 thousand is Purba Medinipur district‘s the 2nd least populous municipality located in Purba Medinipur district of the state West Bengal in India. Total geographical area of Panskura municipality is 20 km2 and it is the 2nd biggest city by area in the district. Population density of the city is 2905 persons per km2. There are 17 wards in the city, among them Panskura Ward No 16 is the most populous ward with population of 4968 and Panskura Ward No 14 is the least populous ward with population of 2460.

Nearest railway station is Panskura which is within the city. Tamluk is the sub district head quarter and the distance from the city is 20 km. District head quarter of the city is Tamluk which is 20 km away. Kolkata is the state head quarter of the city. Yearly average rainfall of the city is 1423.73 mm. Maximum temperature here reaches up to 39.8°C and minimum temperature goes down to 11.4°C.

Our Municipality constituted on 03/12/2001 but it has started functioning 8th, June, 2002.
